Get Incredible Results From An Employee Program

Filed under: Employee Incentives, Employee Program — Incentive Programs Expert @ 9:38 pm

A lot of companies report that their employee program designs have delivered them benefits that they would not have believed possible. From improved morale to lower turnover of key staff members, employee incentives can make an incredible difference in a corporation.

Not all companies, however, enjoy the same results. Sometimes rewards program designs fall flat and actually are all but ignored by workers.

Why is this so? What makes one program a big hit while other employee recognition designs fail to perform?

The answers to these questions can involve several different points. In most cases, it comes down to the planning and thought put into a program. An employee program does not have to require a tremendous expense to be effective. It does need to be:

Fair – While the purpose of a rewards program is to honor workers that achieve something important, some programs are just not designed with equity in mind. Either they only let the “favorites” win or they don’t provide enough opportunity for anyone to achieve the markers that open the program up to winners.

Intriguing – Prizes for employee incentives should intrigue and inspire workers. While not every company can afford incentive travel packages, at least giving workers a selection of prizes can help greatly. A good program facilitation company can help on this front by making thousands of prizes available for company managers to select from. Tiered programs can be created that keep expenses in line, but boost choice for workers.

Announced – In some cases, workers are simply not made aware of rewards programs. With this in mind, it is very important to make a big deal about a program’s launch and milestone dates that come up.

A rewards program can inspire workers to excel. It does take a decent program design to make a difference though.
