Make Employee Program Prizes More Interesting

Many companies understand the value and even importance of employee program designs that are meant to reward good work. Unfortunately, many don’t understand what it takes to properly motivate employees. Thinking that trivial prizes are enough to reward, they end up insulting their workers rather than properly recognizing them. When a better way of gaining all of the benefits of a solid employee incentives program is desired, it does pay to get a little creative with the structuring.

When online rewards programs are used to help keep the prizes interesting and truly motivating, companies will discover they don’t necessarily have to spend a fortune to see results. The best designed employee program rewards structures, in fact, can be kept well within budget. The trick isn’t in the pricing; it’s in the selection provided. It can be important to give employees their choice, and online rewards program make this feasible.

To create a program for employee rewards program that fits a corporate budget, consider making a structured design. For example, set up a system whereby an employee or employees of the month are selected. Prizes in this category can be selected from those that cost X amount of dollars. Quarterly and annual winners can be selected from the monthly pool. These winners might obtain prizes that cost a slight bit more. Still, allow them a selection of prizes within the price range.

When online rewards program facilitators are selected to help with the process, creating a tiered system is fairly easy. The best facilitators will allow their clients access to literally thousands of different prizes at all price points. They will even let clients add rewards of their own choosing. Once prizes are selected, employees that win in a particular tier can choose their own reward from that level. The end result is an employee reward the employee actually wants.

Companies don’t have to go to a great deal of trouble or even expense to create employee program models that work. Giving employees the power of choice can make rewards more meaningful and motivating even if the price tag attached isn’t all that high.
