Put A Spotlight On Productivity With Employee Recognition

Most managers have at least one or two people in their employ they’d like to hold up to a spotlight to show other workers how the job is supposed to be done. When rewarding employees who perform while inspiring those who don’t is the desire, putting an employee recognition program into place can work very well.

Establishing an employee recognition program that functions correctly can be rather tricky business. Programs must be designed to reward those who truly deserve it and must offer incentives that are interesting or intriguing enough to help inspire others. There are some tips that can help managers make certain employee recognition pays off as desired. They include:

Create a logical structure – A rewards program design shouldn’t cater to “favorites.” Instead, make certain the structure is such that proven productivity is rewarded. This can help make certain that managers are not accused of being unfair and that all workers know those who receive employee program rewards have honestly earned the recognition.

Offer reasonable rewards – Make sure the prizes in a rewards program match the performance involved. An employee who makes $1,000 in sales, for example, should not obtain a prize that’s bigger than an employee who boasts $20,000 in earnings. Be fair and make sure the prize fits the performance.

Be clear about the criteria – Don’t just reward John for being a great employee and an all around nice guy. If John is receiving employee recognition for bolstering morale and leading a winning team, say so. Make sure other employees know why a particular one has been singled out for employee recognition.

Creating an employee recognition program that works is not a tough task. It does require some careful planning and execution. When online program facilitators are selected to help with the process, an employee recognition can properly spotlight achievement while motivating others to perform.
