Choice Matters With A Rewards Program
If you’re looking for a way to make sure a rewards program really makes a splash in the workplace, it can pay to offer choice in the matter. When employees are able to select their own incentives, the spin off rewards to a company can be great.
Why does choice matter? It all comes down to giving employees the power to pick what suits them in regard to employee incentives. The fact is not all employees will love a single type of reward. To compensate for this, many companies choose to take a tiered approach to their employee program designs. For example, smaller, lower- and like-priced rewards might be made available to workers who do something great. More expensive, like-priced rewards would then go to employees who do something outstanding. If the items are particularly interesting, some employees will get the extra boost they need to strive to obtain them. While rewards alone won’t motivate a workforce, they can provide a push in the right direction.
