The Real Rewards a Rewards Program Offers

It’s not uncommon for companies to put every expense made or anticipated under a microscope to check for necessity – especially at present. When it is time to review a rewards program for its economic viability pay attention to more than the obvious bottom line. There are more rewards in employee recognition than most managers realize unless they delve a little deeper.

If your company has a well-run employee incentives program in place, the potential rewards back to the company should not be taken lightly. The reality is they can actually add to the bottom line just like any other investment.

Rewards program designs that are fair, honor accomplishments and reach as many people as possible without budget busting, can have these potential moneymaking rewards attached:

Improved worker motivation – If an employee incentives program is designed to recognize productivity and set quotas, the motivation factor it can produce will generally be quite high. If workers know what they need to do to receive rewards, they will strive to achieve. This translates to higher productivity per hours paid, which simply adds to the bottom line.

Increased morale – When a rewards program is in place and it is managed with care, morale can rise. Workers like to be recognized for their efforts. This type of program will get that job done. When a professional facilitator is used to help with program oversight, this reward can be felt without a whole lot of work placed on manager shoulders either.

Lowered attrition – Workers will come and go in any company. However, when rewards are high and morale is too, the rate can decrease. This can save companies money on hiring and training related expenses and keep good workers in place longer.

A rewards program won’t just reward workers. A good program will reward a company just as much or more.
